The one about the BP campaign is great. The degree shows at one of the places I work has been sponsored by BP and I just gave a presentation a couple of days ago about how the staff and students deserve a referendum on whether we should continue to accept sponsorship from BP. It’s been a running battle for some years now but this has brought it to a head.

Thanks for contributing your experience, Jim. I imagine, to put it mildly, that it will be a heated debate. I feel that the oil spill is going to be an event that has a residual impact within the artistic community for years to come. I hadn’t considered BP’s role in funding for cultural areas before and the resultant ethical considerations. I wonder who else across the states will be having similar discussions?
